Take Action!
Edmonton is YOUR city.
In order for elected representatives and administrators to be able to work toward making
Edmonton the kind of city you want to live in, your input on important issues like our transportation system
needs to be heard and recognized. After all, transportation is about YOUR mobility; YOUR
community; YOUR street; YOUR family, friends, children and grandchildren; YOUR ability
to do business; YOUR quality of life. It's even about YOUR health costs and the air YOU
breathe.
Better public transit has the ability to improve all of these things. But to become a reality, it needs
YOUR voice. Let it be heard!
Speak up - talk to friends, neighbors, colleagues about the advantages of investing in better transit.
Share your ideas with groups such as community leagues and organizations, business and professional
associations.
Call your
City Councillor or email the
Mayor.
Write a letter to the Editor of the Edmonton Journal,
the Edmonton Sun or
The Examiner.
Write the
Department of Transportation and Streets and send a copy to your Councillor.
Call the Citizens Action Centre.
Speak to City Council when the opportunity arises, such as at Budget Time or when other transit issues arise.
Contact the
City Clerk's Office office to find out how.
At election time, question candidates for City Council to find out their views on public transit. Most
importantly, be sure you take the time to get out and
vote.
Become active in advocacy groups that voice support for quality public transit like Citizens for Better Transit
or some of the other local groups on our LINKS page.
Please note that Citizens for Better Transit is an independent
citizens advocacy group not affiliated with Edmonton Transit System or other service providers. Got a concern or
commendation relating to ETS services? Please contact
ETS Concerns and Commendations.
