Why Choose Light Rail?


Previous Investments in Light Rail:

To date, Edmonton has invested over $350 million in LRT technology since the 1970's. In today's dollars, this would represent some $550 million. If plans to extend LRT are abandoned at this time, the maximum gain from past investments will never be achieved. Instead the benefits to Edmontonians will become increasingly limited.

Edmontonians have strongly supported investing in light rail transit, despite the high initial costs for construction.
